(My wife, Pat, died December, 2014 at the age of 66. We had been married 43+ years. For now, I thought I would leave her comments about herself written back in 2011 so you can get to know her a little better. A wonderful person, a GREAT mother of 6, and my eternal wife and friend.)
I was born on St. Patrick’s Day – hence
Pat’s Clover Patch is the name of my blog. Yes, my parents named me Pat because of my birthday on that holiday. Otherwise, I would have been Kathy, or so I’ve been told.
I am 60-ish. I am crazy about my 6 “kids” more or less grown (2 girls, 4 boys) and their spouses and the best grand-kids on the planet.
There are always at least 10 recipes on my counter waiting to be tried. I read cookbooks. (And people, a cookbook is no good without pictures!) Dough makes me especially happy.
I love to read. (The Invisible Wall is my latest favorite book.)
I cry during movies, concerts, plays, and alright, fine, even grocery store openings. I even cry when I laugh!
Jewelry bugs me. And I have “anosmia” – no sense of smell.
For some reason, complete strangers spill their guts to me.
I could be the poster child for insecurity, except, of course, I would never want my picture on a poster . . . people would see my gray roots and my jiggle from too many cookbooks! (I loved the t-shirt I once saw a rather large man wearing. It said, “I overcame anorexia!“)
Bruce and I love to travel, take walks, talk about Gospel principles, and watch the occasional movie. Bruce is RED – as red as red can be. I am BLUE – as blue as blue can be. Yup! Thunder and lightning! But we proudly celebrated our 40th anniversary this year.
